Domestic terrorists in Ferndale

Words are important. They have meaning. When used indiscriminately we either fail to communicate or dilute the meaning of the words we misuse.

Domestic terrorism is an appropriate and fitting description of BAMN's protests in front of Western Market, Como's and other Ferndale businesses. Before continuing let's look at some definitions.

Princeton University's WordNet on-line dictionary defines it:
terrorism practiced in your own country against your own people. "the 1995 bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City was an instance of domestic terrorism."
The method of domestic terrorists, or terrorists in general, isn't to attack their enemies directly, it's to cause enough collateral damage that civilians, the ones paying the terrorists' prices, force their enemies to give in. BAMN doesn't really have a fight with Western Market, but they're hoping that slandering the owners and employees of the store, shouting at shoppers, and ultimately hurting them economically, that Western Market will give in to their demands and hang BAMN's posters accusing the Ferndale School District of segregation.

Wikipedia has a good introduction to their definition of terrorism:
Terrorism is the systematic use of terror, especially as a means of coercion.[1]
As far as the definition of terror is concerned, the owners of Western Market, Steve and Tony Selvaggio, are justifiably scared. They're scared their customers and employees will be intimidated and harassed. They're scared disruption to their business may cause them to fail to meet financial obligations to their families and employees. They're scared that in our battered economy the employees they've come to treat as family may be unable to get new jobs if they're forced to lay them off, or that BAMN's slander may be irrepairable.

Terrorists should not be negotiated with.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
-- Edmund Burke
For reasons that infuriate me beyond words (and should also infuriate businesses) both Ferndale's DDA and Chamber of Commerce are incapable of defending businesses or supporting them against BAMN's attacks. Neither, I suspect, have they put as much effort into brain-storming how to protect Ferndale businesses or our city's reputation as they have increasing dues or taxes.

I oppose BAMN's methods. I oppose BAMN's tactics. I oppose BAMN's disregard for others' rights.

BAMN may wrap themselves in Dr. M.L. King's imagery, but their fruit has fallen a long way from the tree.

Please join Tiffani and me and stand up for Ferndale businesses', residents', and vistors' rights to work, live, and shop in Ferndale without intimidation. Please download the graphics I've attached to this post, print them at home, and display however you wish to demonstrate your opposition to BAMN's extortion, coercion, and yes, their terrorism.

  1. Wow, white racists in the south called called Martin Luther King Jr. a terrorist when he came into town, I as a BAMN organizer and protester am really getting a historical experience from Ferndale racists. But not all Ferndale residents are for segregation. Ferndale needs to stop recruiting Detroit students, just to turn around and take their money and discriminate against them and treat them unequally than they treat their own students. They need to let Detroit students in Ferndale High, after all, Detroit student pay for those programs too as stated by the Ferndale school district in their advertisements, "Ensuring long term financial stability-increased enrollment from UHS ..has made it possible to continue providing full services through out the district". Educate, don't segregate

  2. Monica,

You blackmail innocent, uninvolved businesses in a time of economic hardship. If you have a legitimate, legal argument, there are venues for it. You would rather see these businesses destroyed than not hang your poster. You have a right to protest, and that right will be protected. But when you destroy the livelihood of people who provide jobs and quality local goods in a region tattered by economic crisis, I can assure you that you make NO friends here.

  3. Monica, the fight should be at the school and not terror at the other businesses in the community. If some fact of discrimination is to be cured, do it at the school that is discriminating... I have gone by these schools, and like all - its not all kids or what color - but the few that disrespect the community and the school they attend. So if the kids are bussed in or live here they will get only what they put into the district...
So keep the fight at the school and with the school board...

  4. Monica, unless you were old enough to march with Dr. King or experience segregation in The South during Jim Crow you can not share his historical experience.

Furthermore, your phrase, "Ferndale racists," betrays your prejudice, which you hypocritically accuse others of.

Racism seems alive and well with yourself and the BAMN protesters outside Western.

BAMN's protest at Western is not about segregation or racism. There's no evidence of either at Western Market. Your protest at Western Market is little different than a gang member or mafioso demanding "protection money" from store owners "or else." For all the civil rights BAMN claims to promote your methods are little better than al-Qaeda's, the Green Dragons', or the Gambino Family's.

BAMN also makes the logical mistake of assuming anyone opposed to BAMN is opposed to what BAMN pretends to support. Supporting BAMN is not a prerequisite for supporting civil rights or Dr. King's dream of racial equality.

Even if BAMN were to pretend to support one of my pet causes I wouldn't join with BAMN, hang one of their posters, or accept their donations.

BAMN's allegations of segregation and racism in Ferndale are specious and contrived. Regardless, BAMN's complaint isn't with Ferndale businesses, but by extorting them with the "hang our poster or else" proposition BAMN has proven itself thuggish--a street gang claiming free-speech protections while it tramples the rights of others.

  5. Ferndale High School is 52% Black and 44% White(per Public School Review numbers). I hardly believe Ferndale can be considered racist or segregated.

I've spoken with the BAMN "protesters" in front of Western Market. The people I spoke with are either misinformed or intentionally twisting the truth about Univeristy High School. BAMN needs to take their "battle" to the courts, where the facts can be presented... and allow area merchants to serve their customers in peace.

    Western Market has my business!

  6. Gosh...As a lifetime Ferndale resident, graduate of Ferndale High School, and long time bleeding heart, I am offended to my core by allegations of racism in the Ferndale School system! I was even more offended when, to drive in the point, BAMN infiltrated the rally against Prop 8 downtown! Wrong time, wrong place! Ferndale has put much time and money in to providing a place for non residents to go to school, there are not many other school districts doing anything close! University High is full of wonderful educators...people I know, people I respect, people who truly care about the education of their students. Providing a school that is better suited for a proper education than that of the home school district should not be looked down upon. Ferndale used the resources and brick and mortar they had available...it is by no means a rich school district, they went above and beyond to be as inclusive as possible! Shame on you for accusing such caring people of such outrageous things...I don't care where you try to protest...you should not be protesting at all!

  7. The following comment is from Marie Haener Patti. She asked me to post it for her.
    -----------------
I would like to call it thuggery: the (financial) slaughtering the innocent for fun, profit, and intimidation. It IS actually economic intimidation of innocent (and rather disinterested) third parties. The boycotting of Ferndale businesses who have NO involvement in the Board of Education's decision making process in an attempt to get them to pressure (or coerce their Ferndale School District customers to pressure) the BofE to change a long standing (and strongly voter supported) policy against cross county schools of choice is a form of intimidation that seems absurd.

Sorry BAMN readers, this protest action is not akin to desegregating lunch counters, busses and train stations and the non-violent civil rights protests of that era are not best applied in this issue. A business can change its own adherance to a unjust law and recieve support from all right-thinking peoples, and the unjust law falls because it becomes unenforcable. But an individual business cannot change it adherance to state and local laws and policies that are not within its ability to adhere to or not. All you are doing is punishing businesses that take pride in serving a wide geographic and demographic populace and are good civic citizens. They have no impact on the just policies of the school district and do not wish to be involved.

While I sympathize with the plight of the Detroit Public Schools, and its leviathan mismanagement, personal profit taking, corruption, and its continuing disservice to its parents and students, it is problem beyond the scope of Ferndale's solving and unfair to ask the 3000+ student Ferndale Public Schools to be your sacrificial lamb. It is doubly unfair to coerce innocent businesses into being your servants at the sacrifice.

My oldest daughter lives and works in Atlanta,Georgia where their school districts are county sized ( though their counties are half the area of ours). Supposedly this would create economies of scale and lead to better and more equal distribution of financial resources, and to more integrated schools but it does neither. They do have more magnet schools such as for math and science that attempt to maintain integration but still educational disparities and self-segregation, by both blacks and whites, remains. Some counties still do a better job of educating students than the others and the population votes with their feet or, more recently, tries to secede from the county in which they live to create a new county. It's the South, go figure.

BAMN as much as I value local control, I can see the benefit of a larger tri-county regional school district with equal dollars allocated for each Detroit, Ferndale AND Bloomfield Hills student (which Prop A was supposed to do but has not). When you want to take your show on to the real decision makers in Lansing you can count me in. In the meantime I will continue to support businesses that are standing up to your thuggery.

  8. Western has my business too. Those people were out there when I was there the other day and it was very sad to see how they were humilifying themselves. One guy with a video camera and a foul mouth and one under-informed woman holding a tiny sign that really made her look more like a child than a woman. Its completely riduculous that this group wants to target local businesses.
I have 3 children in Ferndale's school district and feel that our city, for its landsize, population and school district size if VERY diverse. And to say it is not is REVERSE DISCRIMINATION and untrue.
And as far as Monica's comments, she should really "educate" herself and not "segregate" herself.

  9. Who are these people?

  10. It's important to remember that BAMN is not UHS students, parents or members of the Ferndale Schools community (they are mostly Detroit residents who are college students and adults).

BAMN has only one member at UHS and he does NOT represent his fellow classmates.

  11. Hey, I forgot that BAMN got my attention back in 2006. Apparently, they haven't changed their tactics and my opinion of them hasn't improved.

  12. I will without a doubt represent myself with no qualms as to my true identity. Again, my name is Emmele Herrold, I am a bleeding heart liberal who prides myself on my understanding of human rights. I am PROUD of Ferndale for understanding the need for extra space and educational opportunities for EVERYONE! I learned of University High School through my mother's involvement with the school district. I was so impressed with Ferndale for realizing the need for change. Ferndale took it upon themselves to incorporate people from outside of the school district, in order to better their education...I have not seen that dedication from any other district. We can act all we want as though Detroit Public Schools are worth their weight in gold...they are not...most residents of the district know that and try their hardest to provide their children with a better opportunity...Ferndale has become a haven for such families...IT IS A GOOD THING!!! I am sure that the downfalls of the new school are similar to that of any new entity and will continue to improve...I am that confident because, again, I know the people involved in UHS and know they are committed to the education and enhancement of their students.

  14. BAMN was, and possibly still is, on the FBI's domestic terrorist watch list. The FBI certainly casts an (unconstitutionally) wide net spying on civil rights groups, but it's still quite amusing. if diplomacy fails to remove BAMN from in front of Western, i'm planning a counter-movement that will discredit and embarrass them until they are the laughing stock of the local political world, just as the larouche zombies are on college campuses. anyone that would like to contribute their wisdom or time can reach me at jgild84@gmail.com or in the wine aisle at western market.

  18. Monica,
A lot of rhetorical tripe, but what it all boils down to is this: You and your ilk are nothing but a bunch of common street thugs and bullies, who stomp their feet like two year olds until they get their way.

The Honorable Rev. Martin Luther King is rolling in his grave.
You are an insult to our heritage!

Your argument makes as much sense as arguing that a hair salon that I would like to patronize, doesn’t specialize in African-American hair, so they must be racist. The solution would be that I should go and terrorize a supermarket.

  20. This has been going on for a long time! Black racism against whites... Notice that you never hear about Chines, Filipino, or any other group being held back? They learn to speak proper english, get good grades, end up with a PHD and play a Piano. You never hear of gang rape or car jackings in China Town. You will never see some Asian standing there, going; look at me! I am a poor little disinfranchised minority; that needs preference. They are so much more a indavidual..

My wife has 2 master degrees, working on a 3rd master degree. Speaks several languages works 2 jobs and teaches college!

And yes, she is a product of Detroit Public schools. You can learn if you want... But then, she is ASIAN... Not Black...

If you want to see what characters the blacks want to import, just go sit and watch them at Wendys on 9 Mile & John R standing around smoking cigars and dressing like hoods... You sure will not go far dressing and acting like that!

But really, notice how quikly they practice the so called crime they are crying against?

They are out to destroy white America, and they will not be happy till they do; making all of society a Ghetto! All you need to do is look at the communities they infest, as others move out due to the crime they bring!

    So we want integration?

    Ya right!

  21. You can see that's a lie. The change has come; where are you? Where was your Black pride concerning THAT change?

As I digress, I submit to you that Black Americans have a very self-serving and warped idea of change, and it is based in victimhood. If change doesn't involve us getting served, we don't want it. Instead of cleaning up our own communities, we vote for crooked politicians who promise to do it for us. Instead of teaching our own children, we burden an already broken and insufficient school system with the entire responsibility of educating our children, and then get mad when they can't read dot on a spot. We point the finger at groups who don't kiss our collective Black behind, but when they do make progress and move toward the 'colorblindness' that we pretend to want, we are the ones who are actually blind to it. We think that everyone else is supposed to change. We want everyone else to be agents of change. We let snake oil salesmen and pied pipers get us upset about the establishment when they are just establishment-wannabes themselves. It's everyone else's responsibility to change.

When are WE going to change?

  22. THIS IS WHAT'S OUT THERE! WAKE UP...

    INTEGRATION?

Dr. Kamau Kambon, former visiting professor of Africana Studies at NC State University, made the following remarks at “Black Media Forum on the Image of Black Americans in Mainstream Media.” This was a program presented on October 14th at Howard University and broadcast by C-SPAN.

“And then finally I want to say that we need one idea, and we’re not thinking about a solution to the problem … And the one idea is, how we are going to exterminate white people because that in my estimation is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet to solve this problem … [We need to] get very serious and not be diverted from coming up with a solution to the problem and the problem on the planet is white people.”

Tyson Leroy Brown (21-year-old Spokane, Washington, black man after walking up to a white student, knocking him unconscious and kicking him) — “I should have kicked him until he’d never get up … I’m a racist, and I hate all you white boys.” [Rob McDonald, “Cops Say Student Attacked Because of Color,” Spokesman-Review (Spokane), Nov. 19, 2005.] (added 11/21/05)

Black friend of columnist Carl Rowan on O.J. Simpson: “Doesn’t O.J. know that we can fuck ‘em now, but we still can’t kill ’em?” Carl Rowan, The Coming Race War in America (New York: Little, Brown and Company, 1996), p. 201. (added 5/11/05)

Grace Watkins (black 18-year-old New Yorker on two policemen killed in a shootout at the Stapleton Houses project where she lives): “I think a lot of people out here weren’t worried about [the killings] because they thought they were white cops. But when they heard the cops were black, they’re attitude changed totally. And they started expressing concern for the police officers’ families.” [Douglas Montero, “Surprising Sympathy Dawns in Projects,” New York Post, March 12, 2003.] (added 3/14/03)

Noel Ignatiev (white Harvard professor and editor of “Race Traitor” magazine) — “Keep bashing the dead white males, and the live ones, and the females, too, until the social construct known as the white race is destroyed. Not deconstructed, but destroyed.” [Robert Boatman, “Trent Lott’s of the Left,” Frontpagemag.com (online), January 3, 2003.] (added 2/05/03)

Nathan McCall (journalist for the Washington Post in his autobiography “Makes Me Wanna Holler”) — “The fellas and I were hanging out on our corner one afternoon when the strangest thing happened. A white boy … came pedaling a bicycle casually through the neighborhood. … Somebody spotted him and pointed him out to the rest of us. ‘Look! What’s that motherfucka doin’ ridin’ through here?! Is he crraaaazy?!’ … We caught him on Cavalier Boulevard and knocked him off the bike. … Ignoring the passing cars, we stomped him and kicked him. My stick partners kicked him in the head and face and watched the blood gush from his mouth. I kicked him in the stomach and nuts, where I knew it would hurt. Every time I drove my foot into his balls, I felt better … one dude kept stomping, like he’d gone berserk … When he finished, he reached down and picked up the white dude’s bike, lifted it as high as he could above his head, and slammed it down on him hard. … We walked away, laughing, boasting, competing for bragging rights about who’d done the most damage.” [Nathan McCall, Makes Me Wanna Holler: A Young Black Man in America, Random House, 1993, p. 3.] (added 2/05/03)

Marcus Jacoby (the only white on the historically black Southern University football team from 1996 to 1998) — “I heard the entire stadium booing me. Fans were yelling ‘Get the white boy out.’” Mr. Jacoby left the team because of repeated death threats. [Ira Berkow, Race: “Keeping Score in Louisiana,” The Oregonian, Aug. 1, 2000, p. A6.] (added 2/05/03)

Ann Rhodes (University Relations Vice President at the University of Iowa speaking after it was discovered a black woman staged a phony hate crime) — “I figured it was going to be a white guy between 25 and 55 because they’re the root of most evil.” [Greg Smith, “Black Student Arrested in Racist Threats at Iowa Dental School,” AP, April 20, 2000. Scott Hogenson, “College Official Calls White Men ‘Root of Most Evil,’” CNSNews.com, April 21, 2000.] (added 2/05/03)

Ice Cube (black rap musician) — “Ice Cube wishes to acknowledge white America’s continued commitment to the silence and oppression of black men … White America needs to thank black people for still talkin’ to them ‘cause you know what happens when we stop.” [pamphlet included in his 1992 album The Predator.] (added 2/05/03)

Frances Cress Welsing (black psychiatrist) — “White male homosexuality may be viewed as the symbolic attempt to incorporate into the white male body more male substance by either sucking the penis of another male and orally ingesting the semen, or by having male ejaculate deposited in the other end of the alimentary canal. Through anal intercourse, the self-debasing white male may fantasize that he can produce a product of color, albeit that the product of color is fecal matter.” [Frances Cress Welsing, The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors, Third World Press, 1991, p. 47.] (added 2/05/03)

Amiri Baraka (poet laureate of the state of New Jersey) — “Come up, black dada nihilismus. Rape the white girls. Rape their fathers. Cut the mothers’ throats.” [from “Black Dada Nihilismus.”] (added 2/05/03)

Robert Mugabe (President of Zimbabwe who is taking the land of white farmers and revoking their citizenship) — “Our party must continue to strike fear in the heart of the white man, our real enemy!” [J.T. Young, “Zimbabwean double standard,” Washington Times, January 14, 2003, p. A15.] (added 2/05/03)

Robert Mugabe (President of Zimbabwe who is taking the land of white farmers and revoking their citizenship) — “Zimbabwe is for black people not white people.” [“Zimbabwe ‘Votes’” American Renaissance, April 2002, p. 9.] (added 2/05/03)

John Street (black mayor of Philadelphia) — “Let me tell you: The brothers and sisters are running this city. Oh yes. The brothers and sisters are running this city. Running it! Don’t let nobody fool you; we are in charge of the City of Brotherly Love. We are in charge! We are in charge! [Cynthia Burton, “Street Talk Hits a Nerve on Race,” Philadelphia Inquirer, April 17, 2002, p. A1.] (added 2/05/03)

Leonard Jeffries (chairman of the African-American studies department of the City College of New York, interviewed in the May, 1995 issue of Rutherford magazine) :

Q: But the black man is no longer a slave.
A: The slave should be waking up, thinking of ways to slit the slavemaster’s throat …
Q: What kind of world do you want to leave to your children?
A: A world in which there aren’t any white people …
[T.L. Stanclu & Nisha Mohammed, Leonard Jeffries Jr., Rutherford, May 1995, p. 13.] (added 2/05/03)

Paul Mooney (black comedian) — “White people are scared, because minorities are taking over. White people are worried because they can’t out-f*** the Mexicans — minorities in numbers alone are taking over, and white folks are scared because they are afraid that we are going to do to them exactly what they’ve done to us. And they are absolutely right. When the s*** turns around, we are going to treat you exactly like you’ve treated us: like s***.” [Danyel Smith, Full Moon, The Bay Guardian, 3/3/93.] (added 2/05/03)

Art Carey (white columnist) — “White Guys also tend to have wide hips, flat butts, bulging love handles, fat guts, sunken chests, weak chins, spindly arms, treble voices, red necks and, after a certain age, thinning hair or bald heads. Some may find these anatomical peculiarities appealing, believe it or not … Think of the most obnoxious White Guy you know. Guess what? He’s going to croak … you get to watch White Guys die.” [Art Carey, “The Great White Dopes,” San Jose Mercury News, June 15, 1993.] (added 2/05/03)

Kay Patterson (state senator in the South Carolina legislature writing in an invitation to black politicians) — “Now please don’t bring any of your ‘White-Friends,’ this is a ‘Colored’ meeting.” [Patterson offers no apology for actions, Post and Courier (Columbia) 4/5/93, p. 3B.] (added 2/05/03)

Jocelyn Walters (journalism student at the University of Georgia in the campus-related paper called The Red & Black) “I’m talking to you, white America. You’re wrong. You’re evil … Your greed is overwhelming. Your lust for power disgusting. The blood on your hands signifies what a demon you are …”

“You have always thrived off of the blood and sweat of others. You drink them. It is your sustenance … You make me sick! Sick with anger. Sick with disgust. Sick with the desire to ruin you like you have ruined so many others …” [Jocelyn Walters, “Blacks Should revolt against white, male America,” The Red and Black, Feb 15, 1993.]

Miles Davis (black jazz musician) “If somebody told me I had only one hour to live, I’d spend it choking a white man. I’d do it nice and slow.” [Miles Davis Can’t Shake Boyhood Racial Abuse, Jet March 25, 1985.]

Eldridge Clever (former Black Panther leader on why he raped white women) “Rape was an insurrectionary act. It delighted me that I was defying and trampling upon the white man’s law, upon his system of values, and that I was defiling his women …” [Eldridge Clever, Soul on Ice, McGraw-Hill, 1968, p.14.]

Gus Savage (former U.S. Representative from Chicago to a white member of the press) “I don’t talk to you white motherf*ckers … You bitch motherf*ckers in the white press … F*ck you, you motherf*cking *sshole … white devils.” [Marilyn Rauber, “Reporter Says Black Rep Hurled Racial Slurs,” New York Post, June 27, 1991, p. 18.]

Chino Wilson (in an editorial in the Daily Collegian, campus newspaper at Penn State University) “After looking at all the evidence there is only one conclusion: white people are devils … I believe that we must secure our freedom and independence from these devils by any means necessary, including violence … To protect ourselves we should bear arms (three handguns and two rifles, maybe an M-16) immediately and form a militia … So black people, let us unite, organize and execute.” [Chino Wilson, “African American Students Should Not Trust ‘Devilish’ White People,” The Daily Collegian, Penn State University, January 28, 1992.]

Khalid Abdul Muhammed (former assistant to Louis Farrakhan — current leader of the New Black Panther Party) — ‘Hollywood is owned by these so-called Jews. Look at the movies they make about us, Black people killing Black people. Let’s make some revolutionary movies where we kill white people in the movie. Kill ’em so hard you have to cover up your popcorn from the blood spraying out of the screen.” [Speech at San Francisco State University, May 21, 1997.]

Khalid Abdul Muhammed (on what South African blacks should do to any whites who refuse to leave South Africa): “We kill the women. We kill the babies. We kill the blind. We kill the cripples. We kill them all … When you get through killing them all, go to the goddamn graveyard and kill them a-goddamn-gain because they didn’t die hard enough.” [November 29, 1993 speech at Kean College in Union, New Jersey.]

Augustin Cebada “Go back to Simi Valley, you skunks! Go back to Woodland Hills! Go back to Boston! Go back to Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white people, it is your duty to die …” [Quoted in Barbara Coe, Reconquista, The Takeover of America, California Coalition for Immigration Reform, 1998, p. 20.]

Prof. Jose Angel Gutierrez (University of Texas, Arlington) “We have an aging white America. They are dying. They are shitting in their pants with fear! … I love it!” — [Speech of Jan. 1995, quoted in Coe, Reconquista, p. 16.]

Sister Souljah (rap artist and black activist) “If black people kill black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people.” [R.W. Apple “Jackson Sees ‘Character Flaw’ in Clinton’s Remarks on Racism, New York Times, June 19, 1992.]

Ice Cube (black rapper and actor, on the anti-Korean album Death Certificate)

“So don’t follow me up and down your market.
or your little chop suey ass will be a target.
So pay your respects to the black fist
or we’ll burn your store right down to a crisp.”
[Eric Briendel, “Rap Star to Koreans: ‘We’ll Burn Your Stores,’” New York Post, Dec. 5, 1991, p. 29.]

Amiri Baraka (black poet and writer)

“You cant steal nothin from a white man, he’s already
    stole it he owes
you anything you want, even his life. All the stores will
    open up if you
will say the magic words. The magic words are: Up against
    the wall
motherfucker this is a stick up!”
[Quoted in Anne Wortham, The Other Side of Racism, Ohio State University Press, 1981, p. 257.]

Mario Obledo — (1998 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient and former head of Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund — MALDEF) “California is going to be a Mexican state, we are going to control all the institutions. If people don’t like it they should leave.” [Tom Leykis Radio Show, June 7, 1998.]

  23. Thank you to everyone that have posted to this article, especially everyone who found my blog after listening to Friday's segment on WJR radio.

I think it's important to emphasize that BAMN does not represent the black community any more than David Duke represents the white community.

The problem with too many civil rights organizations like BAMN and the Rainbow Push Coalition is they don't really represent the black community. The black community didn't elect them. BAMN and others elected themselves.

In the case of BAMN's unsupported allegations against the Ferndale School District, neither University High students or their parents support BAMN. BAMN only represents itself--as it only ever has.

Unfortunately, organizations like BAMN and Rainbow are too frequently patronized by the media and portrayed by the media as leaders of the black community.

The real leaders of the black community are the parents of University High students that take their children's futures seriously and take steps to see they get the best education they can afford.

Those are the leaders the media should interview. Those are the leaders they should interview. They are better role models and agents of change than BAMN could ever pretend to be.

To truly break through in life and have a career and family and be RESPECTED you first have to evolve beyond the bs..... I know ass*****, bigots, and morons of every shade. Get out of the house, and you can see it too! Its 2009.... and people still think its 1967... Be above negativity.

  27. THINK AGAIN! You can sensor the truth, but that does not change the fact that it is true! It is all a can of worms; like it or not...

Rickey Hampton | The Flint Journal
    Sunday April 20, 2008

"I get the sense when I listen to the national voices in the black community that racism and discrimination are still the No. 1 issue."

"There was a time when that was true, but not anymore. In fact, those issues are, or at least they should be, way down the list."

"There is no question the No. 1 priority of the black community, and every community for that matter, should be education."

"How can it not be after a start-ling report by the America's Promise Alliance, which says that a child drops out of a public high school every 26 seconds?"

"The sobering report went on to say that most of the kids who fail come from predominantly black schools in America's urban cities. In Detroit, three out of every four high school students quits."

"Those three kids in four who decided to quit are almost guaranteeing themselves a life lived on the threshold of poverty, at best."

"It's a good chance they will find themselves on welfare, living in public housing, and particularly for young black men, find themselves in the criminal justice system."

  28. TERRORISM:It is just like ACCORN, which intimidated banking institutions into giving loans to people who could not pay them off.

The same ACCORN that got in trouble for Voter Fraud.

The same ACORN associated with BARACK OBAMA.

The same ACORN that will recieve Barack Obama's stimulus package funds from US tax payers.

This terrorism is mainstream, not marginalized...

David Duke this: Is it like the same Black Panther Party that caused voter Intimidation? Is it like the Black Panther Party posted on the OBAMA for President Web page? Read up on this, there is so much more!

"Rules for Radicals" begins with an unusual tribute: "From all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins – or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer."

The devil challenged authority and got his own kingdom, and that goes to the heart of what left is really about. That of course is to get power any way you can, including lying, cheating and stealing. The ultimate rule is that the ends justify the means.

Alinsky asserted that he was more concerned with the acquisition of power than anything else: "My aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how to use it." This is not to be done with assistance to the poor, nor even by organizing the poor to demand assistance: "[E]ven if all the low-income parts of our population were organized ... it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes."

Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: "Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America's white middle class. That is where the power is. ... Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority."

But that didn't stop Alinsky and his followers from using the middle class for their own purposes. They counted on the guilt and shame of the white middle class to get what they wanted. In order to take over institutions and get power, the middle class had to be convinced that they were somehow lucky winners in "life's lottery."

Alinsky's radicals found a perfect vehicle for their destruction of the American system and more particularly for taking and maintaining power. That instrument was the Democratic Party.

"Wherever possible go outside the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear and retreat."

"Make the enemy live up to his/her own book of rules. You can kill them with this. They can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."

"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage."

"The threat is generally more terrifying than the thing itself."

"In a fight almost anything goes. It almost reaches the point where you stop to apologize if a chance blow lands above the belt."

"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it." (Think Gingrich, Lott and the success of name-calling used by the likes of Bill Clinton, Paul Begala, James Carville, Maxine Waters and others against conservatives and Republicans. Think of how Clinton "enemies" like Paula Jones or Linda Tripp were treated.)

"One of the criteria for picking the target is the target's vulnerability ... the other important point in the choosing of a target is that it must be a personification, not something general and abstract." (Trent Lott comes to mind. Meanwhile, a former Klansman by the name of Sen. Robert Byrd got away with saying "nigger" on Fox News at least three times, and he still maintains his Senate seat and power.)

"The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength." For instance, Democrats imply conservatives are racists or that Republicans want to kill senior citizens by limiting the growth of the Medicare system, they imply Republicans want to deny kids lunch money without offering real proof. These red-herring tactics work.

    Oh, then David Duke this:

Eliminate The Black Supremacy That Divides Our Community by Akindele Akinyemi

If a Black person tells the truth -- namely, that in 2007, 99% of Black problems are self-inflicted -- he is, like Bill Cosby and Thomas Sowell, dismissed as an Uncle Tom. If a white person tells the truth -- namely, that with a 70% illegitimacy rate, no amount of government hand-outs will do anything but provide the cancer victim with a very expensive band-aid -- he’s condemned as a racist.

That to me sounds confusing. However, Black race hustlers are doing this right now in Detroit. As a former "progressive liberal" I can account how many times I have blamed White people for Black people's actions.

When Blacks say they wish to have a dialogue with Whites, it only means that they want a forum at which to bash Whites. You know this to be true.

There is such a thing as white producing racism. However, what Blacks refuse to acknowledge is that Whites are intolerant of crime and the creeps who commit it, be they Black thugs or poor White trash. The latter are those lowlifes who form Aryan gangs; tattoo themselves with skulls and swastikas; and produce, distribute and use methamphetamines. I don’t know a single White person who isn’t ashamed to be of the same race as these vicious cretins.

But if a person such as myself who will say that the promiscuity, drug use and illiteracy is plaguing the Black underclass, I am told that I am blind, lost or even an sellout. The real shame should be that millions of Black children are fatherless; that their taste in music is for anything that’s crude, lewd and loud; that their role models are too often basketball players who make more babies than baskets; whose language skills are embarrassingly abysmal; and that, although most of the street punks are peddling drugs for roughly the minimum wage, they regard it as a worthier, more manly pursuit than working at a 7/11 or, God forbid, going to church, school or a library.

The Black Grassroots/Black civil rights leaders and Black clergy allow this foolishness to go on in the community. When was the last time you heard the NAACP have a campaign to tell our brothers to pull their pants up in public or the National Urban League tell our sisters to comb their hair before leaving the house so they can keep those rags off their heads?

Let me the first to tell you the truth. I used to be a Black Supremacist. Because Black Supremacy is deeply rooted in Detroit you can see how various religion or cults have sprouted up. Black supremacy, as with supremacism in general, is rooted in ethnocentrism and contains varying degrees of racism and xenophobia. Associations of black supremacy with calls for Black Cultural Power, ethnic cleansing and racial separation are common, but not necessarily intrinsic.

I cannot begin to tell you the number of Black people living in Detroit that consider Black supremacy acceptable because of its message about Black self-respect, Black self-sufficiency and Black economic improvement. We should be able to do that without hating others.

It is very easy for young Blacks to get caught up in this type of thinking. Whether they joined the 5% Nation, Nuwuabians, Nation of Islam, Nation of Yahweh, Ausar-Auset Society or the Rastafari movement (and I studied under every single one of these groups with the Nuwuabians being the longest) the pseudo-science can sound real.

Most of these Black organizations (civil, religious, or grassroots) that are supposed to stand up for Black people (supposedly) are built on fear, intimidation, racism and exploitation. Sexual exploitation is ALWAYS at the forefront of these types of groups. Guaranteed. If you are not having sex with your peer(s) you are having sex with small children, boys and girls as well as selling them for profit. Bi-sexuality, homosexuality, feminism and phedophila is extremely rampant in these types of groups and this is why I separate myself from these types of organizations.

It does not matter what church, civil rights organization or conscious rap group you belong to you are doing things that you have no business doing. One person in the New Afrika movement told me that Black men should not only be married to a woman but have several women on the side because this is how it has always been done in Mother Africa. It is not in the nature of a Black man to settle down with one woman because that is the ways of the White man and his culture.

I guarantee you the leader(s) of a Black organization (civil, religious or grassroots) is practicing immorality to the highest degree. After being involved in this type of movement for almost 20 years I have seen and heard first hand of these types of behaviors. Think about it. Any Black Church that supports the liberal agenda like homosexuality (the United Church of Christ and their affiliates), welfare, failing public schools and the likes are normally supported by Democrats politically. That is why you often hear in our community "it does not matter what is going on in the pastor's or CEO's bedroom." (1) It does matter because if you are whore in your bedroom with different people you will be a whore in public and (2) if you go both ways (bi-sexual) that too will eventually come out. It always does. These Black churches or Black organizations do not push for prayer in schools (they tell individuals to pray to their own God), they do teach students abstinence (they give out condoms in schools) and will not speak out against the quality of education in the failing public schools (that is the government's job to do this...a tax paying babysitting service).

    Now Jeff, if you say:

"i kind of worry that stuff like that can warp weak minded individuals into adopting an us vs the world mentality. The people that make stuff happen.... I mean the real movers and shakers of society dont think like that. Nor do they harbor those beliefs. Yes they do Jeff!"

I would have to ask, what color is the sky in your world?

Because, you are responding to a reality that is not there!

Like big brother, there is always someone practicing the very crime that you are crying against; and that is called; sensorship.........Hypocrite

    Quoting Michelle Obama.

Here's an excerpt from Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky's book, Rules for Radicals:

"The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive -- but real -- allies of the Haves...The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means... The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be."

  29. Terrorism: How do you think ACORN, along with Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac caused this housing mess?

Intimidation, racial hatred and manipulation to hide their aggenda..

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A12298-2004Dec19.html

"This hearing is about the political lynching of Franklin Raines," Clay said in an opening statement, before the questioning of the witnesses had begun.

One week earlier, Fannie Mae had issued a news release announcing that Clay joined the company in celebrating Fannie's investment of more than $50 million in a downtown St. Louis housing project. Before the month was out, Fannie had issued another news release on an initiative to make it easier for St. Louis, Mo., residents to buy homes near public transportation. That release noted Clay's participation in an event announcing the initiative.

As one of the most prominent African Americans in corporate America and a senior member of the Clinton administration, Raines had an affinity with the overwhelmingly Democratic Congressional Black Caucus that transcended local politics. At a ceremonial swearing in for members of the caucus in 2001, Raines delivered a speech on the history of African Americans in Congress -- and drew at length from a book by Clay's father, who preceded him in the House.

How ACORN and Its Dem Allies Built the Mortgage Disaster

Spreading the Virus - How ACORN and Its Dem Allies Built the Mortgage Disaster
    Stanley Kurtz
    October 14, 2008

To discover the roots of to day's economic crisis, consider a tale from 1995.

That March, House Speaker Newt Gingrich was scheduled to address a meeting of county commissioners at the Washington Hilton. But, first, some 500 protesters from the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) poured into the ballroom from both the kitchen and the main entrance.

Hotel staffers who tried to block them were quickly overwhelmed by demonstrators chanting, "Nuke Newt!" and "We want Newt!" Jamming the aisles, carrying bullhorns and taunting the assembled county commissioners, demonstrators swiftly took over the head table and commandeered the microphone, sending two members of Congress scurrying.

The demonstrators' target, Gingrich, hadn't yet arrived - and his speech was cancelled. When the cancellation was announced, ACORN's foot soldiers cheered.

Obama was perfectly aware of ACORN's intimidation tactics --indeed, he oversaw a Woods Fund report that boasted of managing to fund the radical group despite its shocking behavior.

    An ACORN For The Teacher
    by Jerome du Bois

    http://www.thetearsofthings.net/archives/000883.html

The Obama campaign can deny his involvement with ACORN all day long, but the paper trail is long and detailed, complete with photographs. Check out this piece from Charles Johnson's website, for just one example.

Jeff by your definition, our President is a terrorist!

What makes you think these people will change? They are getting what they want.... Their way!

Terrorism can even get someone elected President of the USA.

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/07132008/postopinion/editorials/another_acorn_scandal_119692.htm

    ANOTHER ACORN SCANDAL

After all, "fraud" has practically been ACORN's middle name.

As Michelle Malkin wrote on these pages last month, the group recently settled the largest case of voter fraud in Washington state history - having submitted thousands of bogus voter-registration forms.

ACORN has been implicated in similar schemes in 14 other states - including Ohio, where a worker traded crack cocaine for fraudulent registrations.

Back in the '80s and '90s, ACORN's tactics included trespassing, illegal seizure of private property, physical harassment, intimidation and outright extortion.

For example, in 1985, ACORN illegally seized 25 abandoned buildings owned by New York City and installed squatters as residents. A weak-kneed City Hall eventually gave the group title to the buildings - proving that crime can pay.

Amazingly, a large chunk of ACORN's budget is provided by taxpayers.

Much of the rest comes from gullible foundations and groups like the United Federation of Teachers - which has partnered up with ACORN in efforts to kill Mayor Bloomberg's school reform.

    http://colonial-america.suite101.com/article.cfm/lives_of_precontact_indigenous_americans

Not all the native tribes lived in peace with each other. The tribes fought among themselves for better land and hunting territories. That is why their villages were designed to hold defense in case of an invasion.

How about Africa; they are all fighting a civilwar or each other, taking over each others land to this day! Africa is one of the most tribal and corrupt continents on the face of this earth...Oh, and "Slavery" still exist in the open all over Africa...

Thrasher, can you define soft biggotry? Tell me what it looks like! How do you know Ferndale is practicing soft biggotry?

Thrasher, could your oppinion constitute soft biggotry?

How about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of there skin! Or have you forgotten this? When something does not suite you, it is convenient to call it racism..

Teach your kids, and raise them right Thrasher.... Why is it the schools problem they cannot read. Take responsibility for your kids, and stop blaming Ferndale! Ferndale does not make babies...

If we are to make judgements, make them informed!!!! The black issue is real, not imagined!

Nearly all the following figures, which speak for themselves, have not been reported in America:

According to the latest US Department of Justice survey of crime victims, more than 6.6 million violent crimes (murder, rape, assault and robbery) are committed in the US each year, of which about 20 per cent, or 1.3 million, are inter-racial crimes.

Most victims of race crime – about 90 per cent – are white, according to the survey "Highlights from 20 Years of Surveying Crime Victims," published in 1993.

Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey.

Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent crimes of whites.

According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.
These breathtaking disparities began to emerge in the mid-1960s, when there was a sharp increase in black crime against whites, an upsurge which, not coincidentally, corresponds exactly with the beginning the modern civil rights movement.

Over time, the cumulative effect has been staggering. Justice Department and FBI statistics indicate that between 1964 and 1994 more than 25 million violent inter-racial crimes were committed, overwhelmingly involving black offenders and white victims, and more than 45,000 people were killed in inter-racial murders. By comparison 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam, and 34,000 were killed in the Korean war.

    Obama Era

It was worth every boring media account, every potent but tired tale of inequity, every well-intended but misguided generational lecture and sermon. Even cultural pity, warm collective handshaking and boundless embraces from those like me who shared the memory of our country's tortured racial legacies - none of these things or truths measured up to the raw reality of today.
This day was sacred to the essence of words unwritten, emotions unmatched and belief suspended but occupied with love. Today, I can whisper to myself, sing Negro gospel hymns in my shower and echo these words in moments of silence as well as in the corridors of the public square:
President Barack Obama of the United States of America.

Black Folks in the Obama Era

Black Americans should leverage Obama. I am pass the emotion and celebration of the end of white privilege and white supremacy in the white house. I contributed to the breaking of the color line and I expect to leverage and take advantage of my efforts and my work over decades in seeking to make our country live up to its ideals . Yet I have encounter a number of people with the opinion that Black people should not seek to press our new president based upon his hue and cultural footprints. Now from my vantage point such a posture and position is foolish, silly and counterproductive on so many levels. It makes no sense to not capitalize on a product I help polish for mass consumption. Black America poured cultural capital into Prez Obama part of his being is the creation of Black America. We were not only his cultural mentor but his landscape and soil . Black Americans were his practice dummies on the field of America's racial games. Those who clamor to the obsolete mantra of a color blind america are living in an obsolete world and there is nothing progressive about ignoring the obvious and the raw truth of reality and the fact of race in our society. From my platform to be truly progressive is to acknowledge existence of one's race and then not be a bigot. Obama is a person of color he is a nonwhite president and as such he has a relationship with nonwhites whether he likes it or not. I have no respect for those who seek to dismiss and deflect and ignore the obvious about race and it's role in our nation and now in the white house. I have no reservations nor will I have any regrets when people accuse me of playing the 'race card" with Obama. Black americans have endured centuries of race based contempt to now expect us to ignore it when we have suffered and died for this moment is an insult and a affront to universal truth. It is a human condition to seek a bond and relationship with another who shares your experience. I offer no apology nor will I moderate or remain passive in seeking to leverage Obama in the white house. Black americans should ignore and dismiss those who claim we are seeking revenge, payback, reparations, special treatment as we seek to leverage our Black agenda in an Obama era white house. I offer no apology at all in my quest to leverage Obama in the white house it is what americans have down for 43 administrations prior to an Obama white house. I can now stop singing negro gospel spirituals in my shower and start practicing my handshake for my white house meeting to come with President Obama .

  36. Thrasher, thank you once agin for demonstrating that which I wish to expose. Hatred and Racism;

One thing though, you shure dont hear the other Ethnic groups complaining. No! Infact, they are at the top of the pay scale in America; and you dont hear whity crying about that, do you?

    Because whity does not care!

    Your malice is deep Thrasher.

    For me:
Persons of color; I dont care.

    Female, I dont care!

Yet here is the truth, and you dont want to hear it...

Other ethnic groups get ahead because they work hard, go to school and move away from the City of Detroit! From the crime! Well Geee, from who lives there?

Gee, I wonder why? Now, if that was China Town, do you think the grass would be growing? Business thriving? I bet it would..

I bet you could take any ethnic individual, put them in the Ferndale schools, and that child would rise to the top of the class. Even in the Detroit Public Schools a ethnic child would out shine the rest and move on to greater glory.

    Gee, why is that!

    I'll tell you why. Parenting

    Loving Black Parents....

If you want role models, try NBRA Chairman Frances Rice or RNC Chairman Michael Steele; they would no doubt have a few things to say about this matter...Especially as you seek to leverage your Black agenda in an Obama era white house. I offer no apology at all in my quest to leverage Obama in the white house.

Read this Thrasher, put this in your pipe and smoke it!

    White Guilt Emancipation Declaration

We, black American citizens of the United States of America and of the National Black Republican Association, do hereby declare that our fellow white American citizens are now, henceforth and forever more free of White Guilt.

This freedom from White Guilt was duly earned by the election of Barack Hussein Obama, a black man, to be our president by a majority of white Americans based solely on the color of his skin.

Freedom is not free, and we trust that the price paid for this freedom from White Guilt is worth the sacrifice, since Obama is a socialist who does not share the values of average Americans and will use the office of the presidency to turn America into a failed socialist nation.

Granted this November 4, 2008 - the day Barack Hussein Obama was elected as the first black president and the first socialist president of the United States of America.

So what...when a white person is born to a drug addicted parent it's their duty to drag themselves out of the situation they were placed in and not make excuses. When it's a black person they are not held to any of that.

  37. Thasher,

Over in the WDET forms your wrote, "I also have the #1 TV show on BAPA Comcast Network and I am the most published social essayist in this region past 20 years.."

You must be publishing somewhere other than your blog, which seems to have been started in the fall of 2008.

I am curious which other local essayists were runners-up to your most-published status. What is the criteria? Where must an essay be published to qualify and count towards a 20-year body-of-work?

And what is the competition to your show on the public access channel and by how many points did you beat-out the nearest competitor?

  38. Thomas, Touché......

The problem is that these people do not play by the same rules you and I do.

They use anything out of context, manipulate it; then say look, you all are a bunch of white racist...

Detroit Public Schools could be a great place! They have had plenty of time to transform it into a positive environment; yet their leaders and black culture has transformed it into a 3RD World catastrophy...

Say, If Detroit was 85% INDIAN or CHINES, what do youi think the city would be like right now.

You know the answer... And you can bet that nobody would be getting car jacked, raped or murdered on a regular bassis in their community..

Thrasher said: "Black americans have endured centuries of race based contempt to now expect us to ignore it when we have suffered and died for this moment is an insult and a affront to universal truth. It is a human condition to seek a bond and relationship with another who shares your experience. I offer no apology nor will I moderate or remain passive in seeking to leverage Obama in the white house."

Well Thrasher, Chines Americans were slaves. Indians were slaves. Even Irish Americans were slaves.... The list goes on!

I guess I will not let you ignore it when they have suffered and died for their moment! And it is an insult and a affront to their universal truth.

    Thrasher, you are a biggot!

  39. FPS a bastion of great intellectual and academic history....Give me a break!!!

THRASHER SAID: "A 2nd rate school district trying to make a buck on the failures of DPS and the love of Black parents....

FPS should be sued for this Ponzi scam.."

    Feb 16, 2009 5:19:00 PM

Oh, Thrasher, sue Ferndale for a Ponzi scam,,, what Ponzi scam? That would mean that Detroit Residents actually would have to pay for something! Make a contribution...

We can't have that can we?

That would be like the Sub Prime Mortgage mess, were people recieved loans based on race; then when they defaulted, Barack Obama bails them out with tax payer money....

But I wont expect to see these people paying anyone back when the housing market changes. Will you be first in line to pay back the hard working Americans who save your house!

I don't think so! You will be the usual wily inter city Thrasher, always plotting and scamming at sombody elses expense..

  40. To get back to the point of BAMN's tactics in Ferndale and their accusations of segregation and racism in Ferndale, I submit a test for prejudice.

Prejudice interprets two opposite actions or facts as supporting their prejudice.

For example, it matters not whether a suburb does something to educate Detroit students, they're racist. No help? Racism. Do help? Racism.

If you have a school with 98% black population, you're segregationist. Have another school with 56% black population, you're segregationist. It matters not what the facts are, prejudice draws the same conclusion.

If a school doesn't promote and graduate all its black students, its racist. If it graduates 100% of them and 98% go on to college, they're racist.

When a conclusion (or accusation) is not based on facts then it can not be moved by facts. Facts didn't contribute to the conclusion and so facts can't prove or disprove it.

    That's prejudice. That's David Duke. That's BAMN.

The prejudice exists because the schools are located in a predominantly white district--therefore they're racists and segregationist no matter what they do.

If district residents complain there are too many students with falsified proofs of residency they're racist. If they don't complain they're racist.

    See a pattern?

Curiously, the same pattern exists in the science (loose term) of global warming. Antarctica is warming? Man is destroying the planet. Antarctica is cooling? Man is destroying the planet.

Glaciers retreating? Anthropomorphic warming. Glaciers expanding? Anthropomorphic warming.

Bad science exists when it provides no theories to disprove it. When that is the case, as it is with prejudice and global warming, all outcomes are the result of the hypothesis.

It's bad social science. It's bad political science. It's bad climate science.

It is why, like climate alarmists, their stated purpose isn't their goal. Control is their goal. Control of our schools, control of our democratic process, control of our economy.

In addition to their tactics, this is why BAMN can not be taken seriously. It is why, like terrorists, they can not be negotiated with.

And unfortunately, prejudice is why some of the commenters here can not be reasoned with.

  41. Thomas: Wow! Good points Tom.

I understand why you do this....

    You have a gift!

    Thank You................
    Ferndale Thanks You!

Point is here folks; if you try and expand your education, if you try and read something other than a magazine, you just might end up like Thomas here... With a well rounded point of view, living, learning and being a decent productive citizen...
Is that not the call to every human being.

  42. Ferndale Schools is just a symptom of a greater problem, the whole country is afflicted with this..

How did we get into this mess!

    So, Let's Recap--

    1. The American people elect a black president with a total of 142 days experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt state in

America whose governor is ousted from office. The President's first official act is to order the close of Gitmo and make sure terrorists civil rights are not violated.
    2. The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm a black Attorney General, Eric

Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists.

    3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta has absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda we find out, who is a true radical anti-American activist and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere.

    4. We got the most corrupt female in America as Secretary of State;
    bought and paid for.

    5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who files his own taxes.

    6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption
    charges.

    7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew
    under charges.

    8. A Labor Sec'y nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct.

    9. A Sec'y HHS nominee who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes.

    10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute
campaign statement that no lobbyists would be appointed.

And that's just the first three weeks. . . but who's counting?

America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ~ Barack, Nancy, and Harry ~ and they are still trying to define stimulus..."it's spending"...

The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that's $800 billion) pork loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars

($13 per week) making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated] that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and

    watch Telemundo!

Yee-haw!!! Only in America, what a country...

    We are lost...

  43. There is no serious reasoning on this site just a set a straw questions answered by the same person who created the straw questions..

BTW I do not reply to intellectual cowards who hide behind a pc keyboard and post under Anonymous.

No doubt probably a graduate of FPS...

Just look at the shallow logic of TG he engages in disinformation to attack those who do not share his myopic views...Protesters in our nation who have alternative views are not cowards and Domestice Terorrists like the KKK, Mcveigh, ..Truth in our nation the country's original illegal aliens and domestic terrorists were the pilgrims and puritans both groups which shared the same dna of TG and those in Ferndale who cannot handle scrutiny and questioning of a 2nd rate school district..

According to the underdeveloped thinker of people like TG he would label priests, educators, volunteers as "domestic terrorists" employing his myopic defintion...

    Always making a difference....

  44. Anonymous, ignoring the personal attacks, you have an interesting approach to eugenics. Rather than claim yours of superior genetic stock, you cast aspersions on everyone else's. Illogical, but interesting.

Except, perhaps, for Australia's Aborigines, I'm uncertain of any culture or race that hasn't an ugly past including expansionism, war, and slavery.

I'm aware of only one culture that despite its privilege fought to end slavery. Luckily, that DNA won that battle of the fittest.

Forming an opinion of someone by their DNA is a prejudiced position to take, and quite the opposite of measuring a person by the content of their character rather than the color of their DNA.

Making a difference is not the same as moving forward.

  45. Thomas; you Rock....

Once more, you demonstrate brilliance. You are a true champion of truth and justice! The beauty is, you are tollerant and creat the space for these people to comment. I have no doubt, they would quikly silence your voice if they had the chance.

THOMAS: Is their position so weak, that they cannot stand debate. That we should role over and not stand up for truth, or other peoples rights because they have some feeling of being neglected or resent in others which they lack in themselves!

Funny, how quikly these people would trample the rights of others; and waste no time practicing the so called crime they are crying against.

The Pilgrims were a long time ago, this is not Plymoth Rock...

  46. BAMN's argument is weak because their rhetoric doesn't reflect their mission.

Like too many government agencies, BAMN has out-lived its purpose.

Instead of improving the prospects of the people they pretend to represent BAMN is holding them back. Instead of recognizing parents valuing education over orthodoxy, BAMN mocks their choice. Instead of celebrating student academic achievement, BAMN attacks their school. Instead if embracing proven, positive educational reform, BAMN criticizes it for not being the old, broken way of doing things.

BAMN and its ilk are not working to improve anyone's prospects but their own. It's a selfish organization hiding behind free-speech protections.

BAMN's tactics are compelling because their message is not.

In any event there is no question my body of work is massive and dominates your outcome...

I hate to acknowledge intellectual cowards that post under anonymous but I do agree your convoluted logic and reasoning could back fire on you and your words could be viewed as those of a domestic terrorist..Heads UP..I may call Homeland Security...lol,lol,lol

  48. Can those of you who know nothing about the FPS we stop attacking the Ferndale Schools as a second rate school system?

Thrasher, what do you know about FPS? What BAMN has told you? Have you had a conversation with any FPS graudate? Met with any FPS teacher? Administrator? Parent? Don't talk about what you don't know.

As a Ferndale High School graduate, who graduated in the top 15 of my class, went on to the University of Michigan, graduated Magna Cum Laude in four years, I'm royally offended that you dare call my alma mater second rate. And, incase you want to single me out, I was not the exception to the rule.

Do your research before throwing accusations out on the table.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous FPS graduate,

Don't be too bothered by fallacious statements. Prejudice and ad hominem attacks say more about the author than the subject.

Actually, they say nothing about the subject and everything about the author.

I'm as big a fan of taking creative license with logical fallacies as the next person, but basing an argument on a fallacious premise indicates either the absence of reasoned thought or a distraction from a weak argument.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Again I do not chat with intellectual cowards who post under anonymous yet I will respond to TG whose advice to Anonymous is as shallow as his creative license with his interpetation of "domestic terrorist.

I am not impressed with the anecdotal tale of the FPS graduate hell even DPS has many anecdotal tales as well even some IVY school graduates yet DPS is not viewed a first rate school district.

I am only impressed and influence by facts here is a link which documents the margainal results of FPS
    http://db.lsj.com/community/dc/meap/index.php?textfield=&textfield2=ferndale&textfield3=&Search=Search

This link of MEAP data clearly confirms my premise about FPS now try to spin this truth of course use all of the creative license you can muster..

  52. Tiffani,

Thanks for confirming my premise about FPS since your retort has nothing to do with my last post about FPS state test scores,,

You share a lot with Tom both of you are lousy pedestrian thinkers and writers ..Sorry to disappoint but I am not a member of BAMN and in your case I have probably been published more in one day then all of whatever nonsense you have written..

BTW do we really need to know about your flushing habits on this site.....
