Campaign kick-off party Wednesday, August 15, 6:30PM

I've sent email notifications and dropped-off invitations to lots of folks, but for everyone that doesn't know I want you to know we're having our campaign kick-off party today at 6:30 at the Geary Park Pavilion in Ferndale.

I'm hoping for a great turn-out. I've prepared a short speech about why I'm running for mayor, which was much more difficult to write than many of the articles I've posted here. Later tonight or tomorrow, I'll post the text of my speech both here and at www.GagneForMayor.com.

See you tonight!

  1. How'd the event go? Sorry, found out about it too late or I would have made the drive!

  3. Just checking in... hope you're able to keep up the blog on the campaign trail...

How many mayoral candidates across the nation blog about the trail? You're a pioneer! :)

  4. We've started a blog at the campaign's website, www.GagneForMayor.com, but actually blogging about campaigning is an interesting idea.

First of all, many of the people I might write about probably wouldn't like what we talked about publicized. Also, I'm unsure if blogging about who I'm talking to or what I'm talking about with them is advisable if other candidates might read it and decide to either use my ideas for their own platform or prepare responses to them.

Hmm. I'm not sure of what the upside would be. To make it interesting it would have to be specific, but it is precisely those specifics that wouldn't necessarily help the campaign.
