Did conservative hosts and hours on the radio still exceed liberal hosts?

Does people really think that if there were a lot of money to be made from liberal shows that there wouldn't be more of them? Are liberal hosts really competing with conservative hosts or are they competing with ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and other less conservative media outlets?

There are more questions than there are answers, but I don't expect anyone to spend much time pondering them when there are political points to be made.Tom Gagnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11466965984472091709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19913884.post-88375826886545380482007-07-11T16:37:00.000-04:002007-07-11T16:37:00.000-04:00So it shouldn't be a concern that nearly all radio...So it shouldn't be a concern that nearly all radio stations in major US markets are owned by Clear Channel, Viacom/CBS and Cumulus?

...and that nearly 80% of Clear Channel executives' political contributions go Republican?

...or that even Sumner Redstone, of Viacom, said this: "I don't want to denigrate Kerry," he went on, "but from a Viacom standpoint, the election of a Republican administration is a better deal. Because the Republican administration has stood for many things we believe in, deregulation and so on. The Democrats are not bad people. . . . But from a Viacom standpoint, we believe the election of a Republican administration is better for our company."

...or that Cumulus Media country stations banned the Dixie Chicks after their controversial statements?

What needs to be fair is not to allow the ownership and control of publicly-owned airwaves to concentrate in the hands of a only a few people - whether those people be conservative or liberal. You think that if the Kerry-Heinz family and the Kennedys owned all the radio stations that it would still sound the same?phikapbobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16139111421640043003noreply@blogger.com
